Summer Camp!!!!!! Part One.....

To our total delight, Mavaney & Noah were accepted into Operation Purple, a free summer camp for military kids.  There is an application process and than a short wait to see if you've been accepted & this year they were!  Isabelle will be old enough to apply next year and she is already very excited to do that, but this year she gets to hang out with Mom & Dad & the babies while the big kids get to enjoy 5 days away from home in a totally new place, making new friends, learning new things and learning even more about making the most out of being an Army brat, hahahaha.

We were fortunate to only have to drive about an hour and a half away to drop them off which we did on Sunday afternoon.  They were filled with butterflies and wonder and excitement & were RUNNING out of the van as soon as we were parked!!

The park area was GORGEOUS!  It has been raining earlier in the day so everything was just as green as could be.  I was so happy about how nice it was for them.

Every building, including the "chow hall" looked exactly like I would picture a summer camp.
This was the sign directing us towards Noah's camp village.  I didn't get a picture of Mavaney's, but will be sure to when we go to pick them up.  Noah's village was KINUKA & Mav's was CHITINAUGA or something like that.  The counselors were there (all girls) in matching T-shirts to greet us and get the kids settled into their cabins. This particular Operation Purple camp is run by Camp America where mostly overseas college students apply to work for the summer.  So, all Noah's counselors had British accents, hahaha.
He picked the first cabin he saw and it already had two boys in it, they, including Noah, all chose a top bunk.  I could tell he was really excited for the week to get going.
Mav had a really nice bridge to walk over to get to her village.
She was put in a very large cabin with several other beds.  She was the first one there!!  Her counselor helped her make her bed first of all & then they were off to make a craft while they waited for other campers to arrive. She was in heaven & hardly even noticed when we said goodbye.

It was so nice outside we let the babies run around for a while, on their leashes of course & they still managed to get terribly dirty, which was no surprise.

I loved this little area. I hope to have something like this in my yard someday very far in the future, hahahaha.

HAVE A GREAT TIME GUYS!  WE LOVE YOU & MISS YOU ALREADY!  SEE YOU ON FRIDAY!!

What a very cool camp and it is so very green there! Nothing at all like SHelby's camp! The cabins look like old wood cabins which is just so cute! I bet they will have a ton of fun and I love that bridge! So cool! Can't wait to see pictures from when you pick them up!
